The Upanishads

UpnishadsThe Upanishads are one of the most concise expositions of the spiritual experiences that lie at the heart of all the great religions. Although nearly three thousand years old, their teachings are as relevant today as when they were first given by the forest sages of India.

These translations of three complete Upanishads and selections from six have captured the eternal wisdom of these texts in simple modern language. Their clarity and beauty have been praised by many; several contemporary spiritual teachers have chosen to quote widely from them in the their own work.

The translations have been embellished with seventy beautiful photographs taken in India by Richard Lannoy, reflecting the peace and inner serenity of which the Upanishads speak.

In addition there is a short introduction to each translation in which the authors provide some fascinating insights into the origin of the Upanishads and the subtle philosophy behind them.
